This year’s Araw ng Dabaw Cycling Challenge will be held on March 10, Sunday, in an out-and-back course at the Shrine Hills in Matina, this city.
“It will have both the road bike and mountain bike events,” said PhilCycling Mindanao race official Corsan Lupas.
The road bike will have categories in the Elite Open and Executive for 30-40 years old with updated PRC license; or business permit for 40 years old and above with valid ID in one category.
The categories in the mountain bike race are the Golden Boys (50 and above), Midget (20 and under), Cadet (15 and under) and Ladies Open. Cash prizes and medals await winners.
The route will have a rolling start from the city hall drive (beside City Mayor’s Office) going to GAP Farm in Diversion Road. The race will formally kick off in front of Las Terasas Gate and will proceed to Dencio’s Kamayan in Matina, to Barangay Langub, Barangay Magtuod in Maa Road and back for a loop.
“Each loop has a distance of 15 kilometers and the number of loops will determine on the different categories,” Lupas said.
