SIX-YEAR-OLD Micah Lora Amoguis of Davao City harvested four gold medals in the 35th PSL Swim League Series University of Bohol (UB) Open Swimming Championships held at the UB Sports Complex over the weekend.
Amoguis, a student at The Abba’s Orchard, also broke existing PSL records in four events she was entered in. She, thus, earned the most outstanding swimmer honors in her age-group.
The Barracuda Swim Team-Davao tanker clocked a total of 51.53 seconds in girls six years old and under 50-meter (50m) butterfly, erasing Aubrey Tom’s record of one minute and 2.22 seconds last year.
Iris Arnaldo (1:30.25) of Ibalong Magayon Aquagliders took the silver while Amoguis’ younger sister, Liaa Margarette, got the bronze for registering 1:40.72.
Micah Lora (57:00), Arnaldo (1:11.94) and Liaa Margarette (1:19.90) also captured respective gold, silver and bronze in 50m backstroke. Micah Lora again surpassed Tom’s 2012 mark of 1:02.62.
Micah Lora also swept the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke golds. She broke Tom’s 2012 freestyle record of 55.59 with her 45.28 and bested the 2010 breaststroke time of Eyasha Camus (1:03.47) with her 1:01.34 finish.
Liaa Margarette copped her third bronze in freestyle.
