Davao City is considered one of the safest places for high school graduates to move for study because its residents abide by the rules the local government has set.

Littering is strictly sanctioned and there is also an ongoing smoking ban. People are only allowed to smoke in designated areas and not just in any open space. While the idea may seem impossible to citizens of other cities, Davao has, in fact, been commended for its successful execution of this rule.

Fireworks are also not allowed, in a bid to reduce the number of firework-related injuries, particulary during New Year’s Eve. In its place, the city government has offered to stage a fireworks display for everyone to enjoy every December 31 and encouraged residents to join in the festivities and activities it has planned out in various parts of the metro.

Some Internet cafes, especially those located near schools, may not allow online games during designated times. There’s also an alcohol ban from 2am to 6am.

This is because of the growing number of individuals who are looking to find work abroad. Some students are also taking up bachelor’s degree courses to prepare for post-graduate studies like medicine and law.
