When you’re driving in Davao City, you need to be mindful not only of the basic road signs but also of existing laws that govern city streets and highways notably on speed limits.
Executive Order 39 implemented in 2013 has imposed limits on all motor vehicles plying Davao’s thoroughfares. The following maximum speed limits are applicable at corresponding streets, roads and highways in Davao City:

From Ma-a Road Diversion to McArthur Highway
30 KILOMETERS PER HOUR
From J.P. Laurel Ave.Alcantara to Bolton/Generoso Bridge
From Buhangin Crossing-Milan to Bolton/Generoso Bridge
From C. P. Garcia Hwy-Bacaca Road to Bolton/Generoso Bridge
From C.P. Gracia Hwy-Angliongto St. to Bolton/Generoso Bridge
Update: Motorists plying the areas covered under the 30 kilometers per hour limit are now allowed up to 37 kph without being apprehended, according to Rhodelio Poliquit, the chief of Davao City’s Traffic Management Center (TMC) on Monday, February 10, 2014.
From August and September 2014, a total of 6,012 speed violators were apprehended.
A violator is fined P2,000 for first offense, P3,000 for second offense and suspension of driver’s license for six months on third offense. Non-speed related fines include placement of unnecessary lights which carry P1,000 and tampering of plates at P5,000.
